Around 9:22 Tuesday morning, the Renasant Bank at 420 Old Mill Road in Cartersville was robbed. There is only one suspect, and he left the bank with a “handful of cash” on foot. The first officer arrived on the scene at 9:26. The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office is currently trying to look at video feeds from nearby establishments to see if there was anyway that the suspect could have left in a car.
The suspect has been described as a black male, who was wearing black pants. He weighs about 165 pounds and was wearing half of a mask and a hoodie. The suspect walked in, handed the teller a note, then jumped over the counter and grabbed a handful of cash, before running out of the building. Some of the cash was recovered around McDonald’s on Douthit Ferry Road. Law enforcement does believe that he has left the area.
The Cartersville Elementary and Primary schools are not allowing children to be outside, while law enforcement searches the area.
