Bond is granted for a man charged with the murder of a woman in 2021. Thirty-year-old Corey James Slaughter was arrested and charged with killing Ashley Dunn with a hammer at an Acworth home two years ago. He is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault. Slaughter’s attorney said his client has been in jail for over a year without bond or an indictment from a grand jury. He said Slaughter is entitled to a bond by Georgia law. If released from jail, Slaughter would reside at his father’s home in Bartow County. He may not reside with a convicted felon. Judge Rosemary Greene set bond at $750,000.
