A marked Bartow County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was involved in a two-vehicle crash. According to reports from the Georgia State Patrol, on Thursday, December 1st, 2022, a patrol car was traveling south on GA 3/Hwy. 41 in the left lane, responding to a call for service. Meanwhile, a citizen vehicle was traveling south on GA-3/Hwy. 41 in the right lane. The report states the driver of the vehicle changed into the left lane in front of the Sheriff’s Office patrol car without using a turn signal. The front of the patrol car struck the rear of the vehicle. Following impact, the citizen vehicle crossed the grass median into the northbound lanes of the highway before rotating counterclockwise and overturning, and coming to an uncontrolled final rest in the northbound lanes of the highway. Officials with the Georgia State Patrol say the crash is still under investigation. They could not say if there were any injuries or if charges were filed.
