The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office recently announced that they will be hosting two firearm safety classes. The first class will be offered on Saturday April 15th with the second being on May 20th.

Both the classes will begin at 8:30 in the morning and end at 1 p.m. The first part of the class will be in a classroom setting with instructions before you are allowed onto the firing range. The announcement states that both of the classes will not have more than 20 people in them, and that paperwork must be completed before you are accepted into a class. This paperwork also includes a background check. You also must be a resident of Bartow County and be at least 18 years old. You will also be required to bring your own ammunition to the range.

In the announcement it is stated that you will need approximately half a box. Along with that if you do not own a gun but still want to attend the class, the sheriff’s office will let you participate with one of their weapons with a limited amount of ammunition. It is also mentioned that these two classes are intended for people that have not attended one of the firearm safety classes previously.

If you are interested in the class and would like to receive the paper work you can email bethtidwell@bartow.org. You can also visit the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page for additional contact information.
