A doublewide mobile home at Two Run Crossing was lost to fire Monday afternoon.  Crews were called to 113 Two Run Crossing off Griffin Road.  The occupant and two teenage boys were able to escape.  The adult male said the boys first discovered the fire.  They attempted to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and then a hose but quickly got out of control.  The occupant said he was glad no one has hurt the structure and its contents can be replaced.

 

A portion of Cass White Road was shut down for a while Monday afternoon.  Bartow Firefighters were called to a hayfield fire on Cass White Road.  Parts of Cassville White Road were shut down due to smoke and low visibility.

We have more on a fire that occurred on Highway 411 early Saturday morning.  According to reports with Bartow Fire and Emergency Services, the fires started at approximately 1:59 a.m. Crews were dispatched to 4091 Hwy 411 N.E. to report of a commercial structure fire. The fire was detected and called in by a working fire alarm system. The building is occupied by 2 separate businesses, Morgan Corporation and Creative Living.  Upon arriving on scene, firefighters found smoke showing in the rear of the building. Multiple-Engine Companies responded, and the fire was extinguished. Hwy 411 was shut down for hours. The building side that Morgan Corporation occupies was saved, however, the side where Creative Living occupies was a total loss. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

 

In a separate fire, Sunday at approximately 12:10 a.m. Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services were dispatched to 64 Dodson Dr. S.W. to report of a residential structure fire. No one was home when the fire started.  Crews arrived on scene to find a single-story residential structure with nothing showing. Crews made access to the interior of the home and found that there had been a fire that had burned itself out. There was a heat lamp for chickens that had caught fire and burned the ceiling, walls, and flooring near the enclosure. The home sustained moderate damage due to the heat and smoke from the fire. No injuries were reported, however, the chickens and family dog succumbed to the smoke from the fire.
