Food City Markets announced that Bartow County will be the site of one of its newest stores, which will be located at Joe Frank Harris Parkway & Mac Johnson Road NW. At a virtual press conference held on Wednesday, Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer, said that local leadership has helped to make the project a reality.

 

“I can just say that we look forward to joining the growing Bartow county community in constructing a state-of-the-art supermarket that will create a lot of quality jobs and a significant tax revenue for their citizens,” said Smith. “And I just want to say that county leadership has been instrumental in […] getting this project across the finish line. They’ve been great to work with and we look forward to breaking ground in the near future.”

 

 

“We are very pleased to partner with a great company like Food City and bring a much-needed new, first-class grocery store to central Bartow County,” Bartow County Commissioner Steve Taylor said. “Food City is exactly the kind of quality company we work hard to attract.”

 

Vice President of Real Estate Steven Spangler described what shoppers will find when the store is expected to open next summer.

 

“The Cartersville store will include an in-store food service operation, complete with an Asian wok, hot food bar, café seating area, deluxe salad bar, hickory wood smoker, stone hearth pizza, and fresh sushi. Full-service meat and seafood […] , great selection of quality meats including our Certified Angus Prime Beef,” Spangler said. “We’ll have expanded grocery, frozen food and produce departments will go well beyond the normal fare with a huge selection of gourmet, international and specialty items.  The Food City Floral Boutique is staffed with a designer seven days a week, we’ll have a full assortment of fresh-cut floral arrangements, bouquets, gift items, and much, much more.  We’ll also have our Food City Pharmacy, equipped with a patient consultation room. We’ll have an offsite Food City Gas N’ Go, featuring seven pump stations and diesel fuel, a wine tasting station, and Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages.  GoCart curbside pick-up will also be available for customers wishing to shop on-line. The new location will also have several energy-efficient concepts new to these stores.”

 

These energy-saving concepts include energy efficient glass cooler doors, parking lot lights and refrigeration systems to motion sensors and 100% LED lighting, as well as an open rafter ceiling design.
