The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for northern, central, and west central Georgia, including Bartow County, for Wednesday morning from two to ten o’clock.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 are possible.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes, wrap, drain, or allow them to drip slowly. Those with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
They also issued a freeze watch for the same areas for Thursday from midnight to ten a.m.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 25 are possible.
