The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office will soon be using the latest technology in D.U.I. breath testing thanks to a state grant.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, his office applied for and was granted an $8,000 award to purchase the new Intoxilyzer 9000 system to be put into use at the Bartow County Jail. The grant, from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, was applied for in February specifically to bring in the Intoxilyzer 9000 as the Georgia Bureau of Investigations requires all agencies to have in use by 2015. The grant was received in August and Sheriff Millsap anticipates having the new system in use by mid-October of this year.
