Bartow County deputies responded to Taylor and Son’s neighborhood store on U.S. 411 and Pine Log Road in the Rydal area on Friday morning about an armed robbery in progress.
Dispatch advised that the suspect had left the store and was traveling in an unknown direction in a Chevrolet C-10 truck with a white hood and gold body.
An employee indicated that an unknown male went into the store, pulled out a handgun, and demanded she give him money while pointing the gun at her. She informed the suspect that she did not have money and called her boss, beside her at a desk. The boss checked on the employee, and the suspect immediately left the area. The employee stated that the suspect made no further comments and did not believe to have seen this person at this location before. The suspect did not fire any shots, and the interaction lasted less than one minute.
Camera footage shows an unknown person walking into the store wearing black overalls, a black jacket, gloves, and an American flag bandana. The suspect pulls out a handgun, points it at her, and then proceeds to put it down by his side, exit the store, enter on the vehicle’s passenger side, and leave towards Pine Log Road.
A few minutes later, Gordon County deputies located the vehicle used in this incident on Salacoa Road and verified the truck as stolen. While searching the area, they located the clothes and the firearm used in the robbery and collected them for evidence. The suspect vehicle went to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation. Law enforcement did not locate any suspects while searching the surrounding area.
