The Adairsville Tigers defeated the Murray County Indians by a score of 55-13 on Friday night.

Adairsville had a great start, scoring a 1-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. On Murray County’s first possession, the Indians fumbled the ball, and Adairsville recovered with a chance to go up two possessions. They did just that, following their takeaway with a short rushing touchdown to go up 14-0 near the end of the first quarter.

Adairsville continued to roll in the second quarter, scoring a 20-yard passing touchdown, a 5-yard rushing touchdown, and a 3-yard rushing touchdown to take a 34-0 lead going into halftime.

Murray County didn’t make many costly mistakes on offense in the first half, but they couldn’t get anything going, and they struggled to score as a result. However, the Indians made some adjustments in the second half, switching to a shotgun-heavy offense, and they were finally able to put some points on the board.

Murray County came alive in the third quarter, scoring a 16-yard rushing touchdown to make the score 34-7 with 6:21 left in the third quarter. Adairsville responded with a 10-yard passing touchdown to take a 41-7 lead, but Murray County came right back and scored on a short passing touchdown to make the score 41-13 at the end of the third quarter.

Adairsville dominated the fourth quarter, forcing two turnovers and scoring two more touchdowns as they defeated Murray County by a whopping 42 points. With this dominant victory, they are now 3-0 on the season.

Adairsville will face the LaFayette Ramblers on September 24th, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM.
