On Friday, December the 14th, 2018 at about 2040 hours Officer Kevin Hernandez of the Adairsville Police Department conducted a traffic stop due to driving with no headlights. Officer Hernandez noticed immediately that both the driver and passenger were extremely nervous in addition to the fact he could smell a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. Once Officer Tyler Ware arrived as a back-up the vehicle was searched. Marijuana was found along with a Hi-Point pistol which was found to be stolen out of Walker County Georgia. Mr. Larry Kirby age 19, and Mr. Steven Hensley age 31 were arrested and booked into the Bartow County jail on multiple charges.
The Adairsville Police Department is glad to see drugs and a stolen firearm removed from our city streets by Officer Kevin Hernandez.
