According to Chief Robert Jones, on Thursday, Adairsville police investigators filed 32 felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children against Chancey Earl Droney, 42 of Canton. Droney had been previously arrested by Adairsville investigators for rape and various other charges stemming from an incident on March 31st.
Chief Jones stated that Adairsville investigators conducted a joint investigation with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, leading to the discovery of 32 pornographic images of children under the age of sixteen stored on Droney’s cellular telephone. Chief Jones stated that this investigation exemplifies the partnerships between jurisdictions necessary to bring dangerous criminals to justice. Droney is being held at the Bartow County jail.
