Adairsville, Georgia-According to Chief Robert Jones, on 06/21/14, at approximately 12:00PM Adairsville patrol officers responded to Mapco Express convenience store located at 6434 Joe Frank Harris Parkway to recover a runaway juvenile.

 

Upon arriving the officers found the child in the company of Heather Nicole Haygood, Derick Clayton Bryant, and Roy Hubert Collum Jr. After briefly speaking with the child, the officers discovered that she had been brought by the trio from Villa Rica, Georgia to Adairsville on the previous date. The child also disclosed that she had been subjected to indecent sexual acts by Haygood and Bryant while at their Adairsville residence.

 

The involved parties were interviewed by APD detectives and it was learned that Haygood and Bryant had agreed to assist the runaway abscond from Villa Rica in exchange for sexual favors.  Once they returned to Adairsville, Haygood provided suspected marijuana and Trazadone to the child.  After which, Bryant and Haygood then performed immoral acts to and in the presence of the child.

 

The child was treated by specialists and reunited with her parents.  Haygood, Bryant, and Collum were arrested and are being held at the Bartow County Jail.

 

Their charges are as follows:

 

Derick Clayton Bryant, 25 of Adairsville, Georgia:  Child Molestation (2 Counts), Sexual Battery on a Child (2 Counts), Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Possession of Marijuana (Less than an ounce), and Possession of  Drug Related Objects.

 

Heather Nicole Haygood, 19, of Adairsville, Georgia: Child Molestation (2 Counts), Sexual Battery on a Child, Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Distribution of a Dangerous Drug (Trazadone), Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute,  and Possession of Drug Related Objects.

 

Roy Hubert Collum Junior, 48, of Calhoun, Georgia: Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
