The Adairsville Tigers (2-1) were out to prove that last week’s win over Cass was no fluke. They took a big step in showing that with a 49-14 win over Model on Friday night.

The Tigers got scoring early and Mason Boswell again was at the center of it. After Model would have fumbled snaps that were recovered by Adairsville, Boswell would score on 3-yard and 5-yard runs that consisted of seven total play and 35 yards. Adairsville would hold a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Tigers were not done there, as Travon Branch scored on back-to-back drives. He would hit pay dirt on a 21-yard run and would then scoop up a fumble by his own teammate and run the ball 40 yards into the end zone to give Adairsville a 28-0 lead.

Model would not go quietly as Jackson Couch would connect on a 16-yard touchdown to Kwalic Dublin. On the next possession, Couch would find Kiron Ford for a 44-yard touchdown pass to cut into Adairsville’s lead 28-14 at the half.

The story of the first half was that Model’s starting field position was on its own 22-yard line, while Adairsville’s average starting field position was at Model’s 25-yard line.

Adairsville received the ball to start the second half and Boswell would get his third touchdown on the day after hitting Ethan Belcher for a 13-yard touchdown pass. Christian Steele found the end zone and capped off an eight play 85-yard drive with a 65-yard rushing score.

Before the third quarter would end, Derrick Simmons would take the first snap of Adairsville’s final possession of the third quarter 80-yards for a rushing touchdown.

No teams would score in the fourth quarter as Adairsville cruised for its second win of the season 49-14.

Adairsville has a bye week next week but travels to play Ringgold on September 22nd.
