The Adairsville Tigers (8-1, 6-0) beat the Bremen Blue Devils (4-5, 3-3) by a score of 14-7 Friday night.

This game got off to a slow start as neither team scored on its first possession. However, Bremen got on the board first, scoring a long passing touchdown to take a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter. There was minimal action for the remainder of the first quarter, but Adairsville had a chance to tie the game midway through the second quarter. However, the Tigers threw an interception, and the Blue Devils regained possession. Bremen failed to take advantage of the turnover, fumbling the ball a few plays later. Adairsville recovered, giving itself another opportunity to tie the score. Unfortunately, the Tigers failed to reach the endzone, and neither team was able to score before halftime.

After a strong performance from its rushing attack and defense, Bremen led 7-0 at the break.

Adairsville received the second-half kickoff, and the Tigers had a fantastic start to the third quarter. First, they had a great return on the kickoff, which put them at their own 40-yard line. Then Chris Roper had a big run where he was just a few yards away from scoring a touchdown. Unfortunately, he fumbled the ball into the endzone, and Bremen recovered for a touchback. This turnover completely changed the tide of the game, giving Bremen all the momentum.

Luckily, Roper redeemed himself later in the third quarter as he scored a 17-yard rushing touchdown to make the score 7-7 with 1:07 remaining in the third quarter. The defensive battle continued into the fourth quarter as both teams struggled to find the endzone. However, Chris Roper continued to make his mark on this game as he scored a short rushing touchdown to give Adairsville a 14-7 lead with 3:48 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Bremen had one final possession to tie the score, but Adairsville came up with a big stop on fourth down, and the Tigers ran the clock out to secure the 14-7 victory on the road.

Next week, the Adairsville Tigers take on the Coahulla Creek Colts at home to close out the regular season. The winner of the game will capture the region championship.
