An Acworth man charged with more than 13 counts of sexual exploitation of children receives a 15 year sentence.  Adam Jeffery McElyea of Mountain Ridge SE, Acworth was booked into the Bartow County Jail on December 23rd, 2019.  He entered the plea before Judge Suzanne Smith Tuesday.  According to reports, the case came to light during a cyberporn investigation.  The images of children engaging in various sex acts were from a Google account.

In a separate case, McElyea was arrested December 9th, 2019 and charged with failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions, driving without a valid license, failure to obey a flashing control signal, reckless driving, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and fleeing or attempting to elude officers.  He failed to stop at a stop sign.  As officers attempted to stop him, McElyea fled the scene, passing other cars and finally crashing.  He got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

McElyea received a 15 year sentence with 5 years to serve incarcerated and the remainder on probation.  While he can have no contact with children, McElyea plans to petition the court to receive photos of his three children from their mothers.  He must pay fines, attorney’s fees and perform community service.

In a separate case, a man charged with child molestation is denied bond.  Fifty-two year old, Kevin Ricardo McQueen of Turner Street, Acworth was booked into the Bartow County Jail on May 27th and charged with aggravated child molestation.  The incident allegedly occurred while he gave a 4-year-old a bath.  The preschooler reportedly told her mom that Mcqueen kissed her bottom.  McQueen has a long criminal history including theft and child molestation.  He is currently a registered sex offender.  His attorney said McQueen was not a flight risk and served as the financial provider for three children.  Bond was denied.
