21-year-old Austin Willis of Kennesaw was booked into the Bartow County Jail Monday morning on charges of homicide by vehicle, DUI, and reckless driving. This is in connection to the death of 21-year-old Kaitlin Smith of East Ridge Tennessee.

There was a two-car collision on Highway 41 at the Red Top Mountain Connector just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 5th. Kaitlin Smith was confirmed dead upon arrival.

Austin Willis was transported from the scene to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital to be treated for injuries. Emerson Chief of Police Stan Bradley reported that Willis was traveling between 90 to 100 miles per hour at the time of the accident. Willis has since bonded out of the Bartow County Jail.
