Georgia State Patrol Troopers were called to a fatal accident Wednesday, November 20, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. According to GSP reports, a Ram Truck was traveling north on Highway 41 at the intersection with East Felton Road when 81 year old, Ruby Haney of Calhoun, who was crossing east across the highway outside of a marked crosswalk. The report states that Haney entered the truck’s path. The front of the Ram Truck struck Haney. The driver of the Ram Truck reported traveling north in the middle lane when he suddenly saw Haney in front of him. He slammed on his brakes but couldn’t avoid the collision. Haney was unresponsive at the scene, transported to Cartersville Medical Center, and later succumbed to her injuries.
