A domestic dispute led to the arrest of a man for aggravated assault Saturday morning.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, deputies responded to 4522 Scenic Mountain Road, Acworth, just after 8 AM Saturday morning to a reported stabbing. When they arrived, deputies found 52 year old Charles Smith with a severe cut wound in his stomach. Further investigation revealed that Smith and Jody Crumpton, Jr, 22 had been involved in a physical fight when Crumpton stabbed or cut Smith just outside the residence. Crumpton had reportedly been staying at the residence prior to the fight. Smith was transported to Grady Hospital in Atlanta for treatment. Crumpton was later arrested in a neighboring jursidiction and has been brought to the Bartow County Jail to await a Superior Court bond hearing. Crumpton is charged with Aggravated Assault under the Family Violence Act of Georgia.
