Speed and alcohol may have played a role in a one-vehicle accident that occurred earlier this week. According to Georgia State Patrol reports, the accident occurred Monday at 4:12 p.m. on Milam Bridge Road. The report states that a 2000 Ducati Monster motorcycle driven by 50-year-old Frank Fernando Henson of Milam Bridge Road traveled too fast for conditions while attempting to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road and collided with a driveway. The motorcycle and its driver were launched over the driveway. The vehicle overturned, throwing the driver away from the motorcycle. The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled rest on the side of the road. The report states that a relative said, “his brother left the residence and had been drinking.” A witness said the motorcycle driver may have reacted to seeing a school bus as he sped around the curve. Lifeflight was called to transport Henson to Erlanger Hospital in Tennessee for medical treatment. The school bus was not involved in the accident, and no employees or students on the bus were impacted.
