Earlier this year, Mark Alan Harris asked for immunity in a case involving Tony Collum.  Harris said he was defending his family and property in June of 2012.  Collum and his brother entered the property and exchanged heated words with Harris.  Collum wound up on the ground, shot in the  chest and buttocks.  The Grand Jury indicted Harris on assault charges.  Bartow Superior Court Judge David K. Smith denied Harris’s request for immunity.  The case was appealed to Appellate Court.  On August 26th, the court confirmed Judge Smith’s ruling saying the evidence did not support a finding of immunity.

District Attorney, Rosemary Green says the case is on the trial calendar, scheduled for September 22nd.

A case involving two local businessmen is on the trial calendar for later this month.
