Zachary Roan Smith

Bartow County deputies arrested a man at his residence on Mohawk Drive in Acworth on Saturday afternoon after an alleged domestic incident.

The alleged victim said that she and Zachary Smith were watching TV and drinking bourbon whiskey when Smith began spitting on her. When she tried to cover his mouth, she said Smith bit her right index and middle fingers to the point that she couldn’t feel or bend the fingers.

She then said when she first called 911, Smith slapped the phone out of her hand and caused the call to disconnect. He then allegedly threw the phone at her, hitting her upper back and causing a large red mark. She was then able to call 911 a second time.

Smith told deputies that the woman got the bruises on her body when she punched him. He also said she bit his hand.

Smith did have a cut on his hand and a mark on his chest that resembled a partial bite mark.

Aside from the aforementioned injuries, the woman also had older bruises on her arms and face which appeared to be in the shape of a hand as well as an old bite mark on her right arm.

Zachary Smith was arrested for aggravated battery, battery, and obstructing or hindering a person making an emergency telephone call. The Bartow County Inmate Inquiry also shows that he was charged with three counts of felony obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers later the same day.
