After much discussion when an initial vote was deadlocked at 3-3, a one mill maintenance and operations property tax increase was approved 4-3 upon arrival of a final council member. The proponents stated that the increase was necessary to maintain and repair infrastructure, while those opposed stated that residents in their ward felt they were already paying enough tax.
