The Cartersville Police Department is currently working a fatality traffic accident on I-75 N, north of the Red Top Mountain exit around mile marker 287. Updated reports indicate this started with a one vehicle accident. The man got out of his vehicle and was sitting on the guard rail making a phone call when another vehicle ended up hitting him, killing him on the scene. Then, as an ambulance arrived on scene, it was also struck by a vehicle. 
The extent of any other injuries to any other person is unknown at this time. We have no identity on the deceased subject. As we get more information we will let you know.
