The Cass Colonels (3-1) lost for the first time this season 43-14 to the North Cobb Warriors Friday night.

Cass stumbled right from the start, fumbling the opening kickoff and handing North Cobb prime field position. The Warriors capitalized two plays later, scoring to take an early 7-0 lead.

The Colonels’ defense responded with a big play when Ian Williams intercepted a pass and returned it for a pick-six, tying the game 7-7 midway through the first quarter. However, North Cobb quickly regained the lead with another touchdown, though they missed the extra point, making it 13-7 with 3:42 left in the quarter.

North Cobb extended their lead early in the second quarter with a touchdown on the first play, bringing the score to 19-7 after a failed two-point conversion. Minutes later, the Warriors struck again, pushing their advantage to 26-7 midway through the quarter. By halftime, North Cobb was firmly in control, leading 33-7.

In the third quarter, North Cobb added a 42-yard field goal to make it 36-7. Cass found the end zone again in the fourth, cutting the deficit to 36-14 with seven minutes remaining. However, the Warriors sealed the game with a late touchdown, securing a 43-14 victory.

The loss drops Cass to 3-1 on the season. Next week, the Colonels will host the Hiram Hornets, with coverage available on Bartow Sports Zone.
