The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (3-0) defeated the Allatoona Buccaneers 37-0 on Friday night to continue its impressive start.
Khristian Lando got the scoring started early for Cartersville and was just warming up in the first quarter. Richard Houston scored to begin the second quarter, before Andrew Purdy connected with Jamauri Brice for a long touchdown pass to build an early 21-0 lead. Then Lando pounded the ball into the end zone twice more to complete his hat trick in the first half.
In the third quarter, both teams exchanged possessions for most of the quarter, but Cartersville did get an interception from Stephen Rowser and got two extra points when an Allatoona punt was snapped too high and went out the back of the end zone.
