The American Legion Carl Boyd Post 42 in Cartersville held a Memorial Day ceremony. Post Commander Kris Dittrich welcomed everyone.
Post Senior Vice Commander Patrick Woodall dedicated a new military uniform display.
The uniform and picture on the photo on the right is of Navy Hospital Corpsman Christopher Anderson, who died in Iraq during an enemy mortar attack on December 4th, 2006. His father, retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Rick Anderson, was on hand to talk about the lasting impact he made.
The rest of the program included acknowledging the branches of service, a wreath-laying, a recognition of the deceased veterans of Bartow County over the past year, a three-volley salute, and the playing of taps.
