Bartow County held their 2023 budget hearing Wednesday morning and presented budget for the county that falls just shy of 200 million dollars.
The majority of this budget, around 45%, is going to public safety. The budget for this year is up 21% from last year, however Peter Olsen, the county administrator, stated that the budget is only up 12.5% without the addition of ARPA and Cares Grants.
Some of the largest times in this budget include $17,780,000.00 to the fire department, $30,940,500.00 to the sheriff’s department, $12,649,500.00 to the road department, $33,291,362.00 to water department operating and $22,962,736.00 to the water department capital projects.
