An accident occurred on I-75 northbound between mile markers 293 and 294 (just north of  the U.S. 411 exit) this evening. A vehicle had rolled over numerous times with two people injured.

One male got out of the vehicle with shoulder pain and was transported to Cartersville Medical Center. The other person was a 62-year-old male who was trapped and needed to be extricated.

During the extrication process, Bartow County EMS determined that a medical helicopter was necessary to transport the patient. He had bilateral femur fractures, a hip fracture, and chest trauma. Air Life flew him to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The accident caused all lanes to be shutdown, which had traffic backed up past exit 288 (Main Street).
