In absentia, Ward Four Council Member Lindsay McDaniel had Mayor Matt Santini read a letter at Thursday night’s City Council Meeting.

April 20, 2017

Honorable Mayor and Council:

After several discussions with my family, I have decided to submit this letter of resignation from the Cartersville City Council, effective June 1, 2017. I feel that this decision is in the best interest for all, and will allow me to focus more on some personal matters that have taken priority. I will always cherish the friendships we have established over the last 13 plus years, and being a part of the decision making process for the city will also be missed. However, I am confident that my replacement will make an immediate positive impact once appointed.

Please understand that I am thankful and grateful for having had this opportunity, and the city of Cartersville is in good hands under your direction and leadership. I look forward to seeing many of your future accomplishments, and remember I am only a phone call away.

Regards,

Lindsey McDaniel Jr.
