An arrest has been made in an arson case involving a home in the process of being demolished.  A 133-year-old home at the corner of Cassville Road and Charles Street was partially torn down last Wednesday.  The next morning, fire crews were called to the spacious lot to extinguish a fire at the site believed to be intentionally set.   On March 1, 2021, investigators with the Cartersville Police Department arrested a 43-year-old Cartersville woman, Nicole Masters, for intentionally setting fire to 32 Cassville Road on February 25, 2021. A joint investigation with the Cartersville Police Departments Criminal Investigations Division and the Cartersville Fire Department revealed Ms. Masters as the only suspect in this case.  Masters is charged with one count of first-degree arson and one count of second-degree arson, both felonies.
