We have an update on a story first reported on January 20th, 2022.  Employees of Toyo Tire told friends and family members they were unable to enter the plant.  According to Bartow County Sheriff’s Office reports, deputies were dispatched to the plant at 3660 Highway 411, White around 6:30 p.m.  The plant was placed on lockdown due to the threat of a shooting.

 

An employee of Toyo Tire told deputies an unknown male called the security booth and said his brother-in-law had just left his residence en route to Toyo Tire to kill his wife’s boyfriend.

 

The man said his brother-in-law’s wife worked at the plant and was with the boyfriend.  Attempts to redial the unknown male’s number were unsuccessful.  According to the report, the identity of the caller remains unknown, the identity of the wife’s boyfriend is unknown, the identity of the wife is unknown so is the identity of the alleged shooter.

 

Law enforcement remained on the scene while Toyo Tire officials conducted security measures according to the plant’s safety policy.  The case was deemed unfounded due to no further available information.
