A fire on Guyton Industrial Drive has kept the Bartow County Fire Department busy since Thursday evening. Several area residents told WBHF they can still smell smoke in the area.
Bartow County Fire Chief Dwayne Jamison told WBHf there is a very large mulch pile that caught fire last night on Guyton Industrial Drive and continues to burn. The business has heavy equipment on the scene to keep the fire contained. The efforts Thursday night were made to keep the fire from spreading to the rest of the materials on-site but were unsuccessful. Now the large pile of materials is also burning. The Bartow County Fire Department is working with the business to limit the impacts to the community. Stay tuned to WBHF for more updates on this developing story.
