Georgia Highlands Men’s Basketball Coach Phil Gaffney won the GCAA Coach of the Year following a 29-1 record in the regular season and capturing the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. They will play the winner of Albany Tech and East Georgia on Tuesday.

The Chattahoochee Tech Men’s Basketball team captured the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament, and they will host Atlanta Metro on Tuesday at 7:30.

The Georgia Highlands Women’s basketball team won its region tournament over the weekend and will look to secure a top seed in the NJCAA tournament coming up this week.

From baseball over the weekend, Adairsville beat Cass in an intra-county game on Friday by a score of 6-4. The Colonels dropped to 1-1 on the season, while Adairsville is now 1-0. Woodland fell to LaGrange on Friday by a score of 9-8. The Wildcats are now 1-2 on the season. Excel also picked up a loss on Friday and Saturday. The Eagles are now 0-3 on the season.

Cartersville fell to John’s Creek on Saturday by a score of 6-3. That was the Canes first game of the season. They will next play Parkview tomorrow at 5:30, a game that can be heard live on WBHF.

Georgia Highlands College was swept by Sinclair State over the weekend as their record dropped to 10-7 on the season. The Chargers will next play on Tuesday against Chattahoochee Community College (AL) at 4 PM.

In soccer, Cass beat Cartersville by a score of 3-2 on Friday night, while the Lady Canes ended up beating the Lady Colonels 5-0. The Woodland girls lost to Allatoona on Friday night by a score of 4-1.

Today on the baseball schedule, Excel will look for its first win of the season when it welcomes Christian Heritage at 5:00. Cass will welcome Creekview at 5:55, while Woodland will travel to River Ridge at 5:55.

On today’s soccer agenda, Adairsville will welcome Darlington at 5:30.

Tomorrow in sports, the Cartersville baseball team will host Parkview at 5:30 and you can hear that game live on WBHF with pregame coming your way at 5:15.

Three local teams have soccer matches at 5:30 on Tuesday as Woodland will travel to Rome, Adairsville will welcome Model and Cass will welcome Dalton.

At the collegiate level, both Georgia Highlands and Chattahoochee Tech will start their conference tournament games at 7:30.
