Yesterday the Cass softball team fell to Paulding County by a score of 10-2 and allowed seven runs in the top of the first. The Lady Colonels are now 1-4 overall. The Woodland softball team also fell yesterday as Villa Rica beat them in a slugfest 20-12. The Lady Cats are now 1-2 on the season.

Today is the big day that many fans have been looking forward to, as high school football returns to action across the state. Cass will scrimmage against Pepperell at 7:30, while the remaining three teams open up season play. Adairsville will travel to Ridgeland at 7:30, Woodland will travel to River Ridge at 7:30, and Cartersville will welcome Allatoona at 8 PM. A cross country meet will be held at 8:00 tomorrow morning, as Cass and Adairsvill will compete at the Pickens Invitational.

Tomorrow in softball, Cartersville will play Fannin County at Stars Filed at 11 AM and Cass will play play Fannin County at Stars Field at 1 PM.

And to round out tomorrow’s action, three local teams will compete in volleyball. Adairsville will travel to Rockmart, Cartersville will travel to Lakeview-Fort Ogelthorpe and Woodland will travel to Rockmart.
