Courtesy of WRGA Rome-Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap says the man who took his own life in the Bartow County Jail was Jack Clark Jr., a 60-year old man who had spent much of the past two decades behind bars. Clark was convicted in Bartow County on more than 20 counts of various sexual crimes against children. Sheriff Clark Millsap explains the inmate timed his suicide based on the schedule of personnel in the jail’s medical center, where he was being held for mental reasons. Sheriff Millsap says the nurse made her rounds, and came back to find Jack Clark Jr. hanging by his bed sheet.
