Chattahoochee Tech’s Campus Life and Athletics Department are hosting various events on all eight of its campuses in support of its athletes and their upcoming basketball seasons. The festivities include tie-dyeing T-shirts, the Golden Eagle Shoot Out, and a meet and greet with members of the basketball teams along with other fan-related events.

The Tip-Off games will be held on Friday, Oct. 30 at the Smyrna Recreation Center (200 Village Green Circle). At 6 p.m. the women’s team will hold an intrasquad scrimmage as part of the “Pink Out” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. At 7 p.m., basketball alumni will show off their hoops skills and will also be recognized for their achievements during their playing time at CTC. At 8 p.m., the men’s team will host its intrasquad scrimmage.

Keith Lundy, the women’s interim head coach, is eager for the fans to get to know the team.

“Tip-Off week gives students a chance to see who we are and the community we represent. Being a part of this week is special to the program and I am glad that we can show our pride for the school,” said Lundy.

David Archer, the men’s head coach and athletics coordinator, is excited about the energy surrounding the program.

“Coming off a solid 22-9 season last year, one in which we seemed to be underachievers, we believe we are ready to compete for a title this season. This team has a great deal of ability and we look forward to the start of the new basketball season,” said Archer. “Both our women’s and men’s basketball teams have been working hard to prepare for opening night. This Tip-Off event is a great way to introduce our student-athletes to the community.”
