December 5, 2022 – Cartersville City Schools is proud to announce the achievement and status of the Georgia School Boards Association’s (GSBA) 2022 Exemplary School Board recognition.
The recognition program is designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. The GSBA Board Recognition Program is a three-tier process to achieve the highest level in board governance. The three recognition levels are Quality, Distinguished, and Exemplary, with Exemplary being the highest level. GSBA recognizes good school board governance to foster educational community cultures in order to advance student learning and achievement.
Cartersville City School Board was also recognized as a Leading Edge Award recipient for the district’s creation and implementation of True Accountability. The award highlights school districts that are leading the way in ensuring students are competitive in an ever-changing global market.
This unique achievement recognizes innovative design and implementation of projects and programs by local governance teams that are having a significant positive impact on student achievement and engagement. The award is open to any school system in Georgia.
