The Cartersville City Schools Board of Education met on Monday, March 8, 2021, for their regular session.

The Board recognized Mr. Gordon Dufrene as our March Hill-Dean HEARTS Award winner in the Transportation category.  Mr. G, as the students call him, creates a true family atmosphere on his bus. He takes the time to write notes and to bring small gifts showing the students that he truly cares. One of his nominators said, “Driving a school bus is not an easy job, but Mr. G makes it seem like a joy!”

New Frontier of Bartow County, Inc. proudly sponsors this award.

This week is National School Social Worker WeekOur school social workers do an incredible job in this role to provide direct and indirect services to students, families and school personnel.  They develop the system’s ability to meet its academic mission, especially where home, school and community teamwork is the key to accomplishing student success.  We are very fortunate to have them in our school system.  Thank you, Maria Davis and Paula Womack!
