The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes moved to 6-0 (2-0) on the 2017 season with a 55-6 win over Central Carroll on Friday Night.
Cartersville wasted no time getting on the board scoring on their first play from scrimmage a touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence to Kaleb Chatmon to make the score 7-0. The Purple Hurricanes would march down the field and make it 14-0 on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to Jackson Lowe with 6:57 first quarter.
Cartersville running back Rico Frye went on a 57 yard run for the end zone to make the score 28-0 halfway through the second quarter.
Central Carroll scored on a 44-yard touchdown pass with 3:33 left in the second quarter, however, a missed point after attempt leading the game into halftime with the score Cartersville 28 Central Carroll 6.
Cartersville received the opening kickoff of the second half pushed the lead to 35-6 Lawrence found TJ Horton who ran 64 yards for a touchdown. The running clock started after that score but the Purple Hurricanes offense did not. Rico Frye added another rushing touchdown, TJ Horton caught another touchdown pass, and Terry Burton would run one in as well.
Cartersville will be back in action next Friday at LaGrange at 7:30.
