Cartersville Police Officers were called to Lee Street Saturday at midnight.  According to Cartersville Police reports, the resident of 134 Lee Street stated that her husband had been shot and they needed an ambulance.  The woman called back a short time later and said no help was needed.  Police arrived on scene to find the woman panicked and visibly shaken.  She said her son had shot her husband, and both had left the house.

The woman said her husband had been arguing with her, and her son came out of his bedroom during the argument.  She added that the husband was in the kitchen cooking at the time of the argument and began arguing with the son, John David Renaudette.  The son pulled a gun from his right pocket and fired at the father.  The report states that Renaudette fired at the victim’s lower right, “taking out skin.”  The father left the scene on foot, and the shooter left the scene in a Chrysler Sebring.

The caller said he went to the Ingles on West Avenue.  Police didn’t find him at the store.  Officers were later told they could find Renaudette at the Citgo Gas Station on West Avenue.  Twenty-nine-year-old John David Renaudette was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a gun.  The victim could not be located.
