In the regular November meeting of the Cartersville City Board of Education, the School Board voted to approve several business items.  Among them was the purchase of twelve zSpace 300 computers for the elementary, middle and high school.  These will be paid from SPLOST and will include software, eye glasses and licenses.

 Also approved were two bid proposals from Leisure Time Charters and Tours.  One was for Cartersville Middle School Tour of Georgia trip in May, 2016 and the other is for the CMS Band trip to Pigeon Forge, TN in March, 2016.

 Under consent items, the Board approved a rental request for Cartersville High School Storm Center Gym for the Stingrays Exhibition on November 20-21, 2015.  A Disciplinary Tribunal and several surplus items were also approved.

 The Board voted to approve personnel recommendations as follows:

 A resignation was accepted from Bus Driver, Charlotte Brown.  Also, Suzan McWhorter’s retirement, effective January 1, 2016 was approved.

 Melissa Miller and Tammie Reddish were approved as Bus Drivers, effective November 10 and 16. Heather Hurst was approved as a Teacher, effective January 4, 2016.

 The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Cartersville School Board is Monday, December 7, 2015 where we will have a combined work session and Board meeting at 6:00 p.m.  Winter Holidays are December 21 – January 1.
