Seventy-one-year-old Robert Edward Dillen was first arrested in August 2022 and charged with strong arm rape, five counts of child molestation, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and acts, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The bond was set at $50,000. The bond requirements included that Dillen wear a monitoring device and have no contact with minors.

Dillen was arrested on two additional charges this past August for other alleged photos or videos found on his phone. He is accused of resisting arrest. His attorney, Stewart Bratcher, said the alleged photos were not new; the phone was confiscated a year earlier. He said investigators should have been aware of the alleged material and filed the charges while Dillen was still incarcerated. Bratcher asked Judge Neal Brunt to either keep the original $50,000 bond or add $10,000 for the new charges. Instead, the District Attorney’s Office recommended an additional $30,000 be added to Dillen’s original bond.
Judge Brunt increased Dillen’s bond by $15,000, bringing a total of $65,000 with all the original requirements remaining in place.
