January 1, 2015: Colton Jaxon Lamar Nichols, was born at 10:37 am today, claiming the title of first baby born at Cartersville Medical Center for 2015. He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 20.25 inches. Colton was welcomed by proud parents, Jennifer Cook and Anthony Nichols, along with siblings Brianna Cook 11, Kristen Cook 9, James Cook 6, and Carter Nichols 18 mos. He was delivered by Dr. Barfield of Cartersville OBGYN.
To honor the occasion, the Mother/Baby Care Staff at Cartersville Medical Center and the CMC Auxiliary & Gift Shop presented the family with gift baskets and a special dinner. Additionally, Dimples Photography provided a complimentary photo session for the New Year’s Baby.
“Every delivery is special here, but we always look forward with great anticipation to the arrival of the New Year Baby,” said Kathy Coleman, RN, director of perinatal services at Cartersville Medical Center. “It’s a happy and fun celebration for the family and our staff!”
More than 950 babies were delivered at Cartersville Medical Center in 2014.
