Bartow County Commissioner Steve Taylor is proposing an increase in the local Homestead Ad Valorem Property Tax Exemption. If approved, this would result in lower property taxes for local home owners.  During his Wednesday meeting, Commissioner Taylor proposed legislation that would increase the homestead exemption from $5,000 to $10,000. The proposal must be approved by the legislature, then the voters. This exemption is separate from the proposed senior school tax. Listen to the commissioner’s comments; posted below.
