Northwest Georgia Chapter Successfully Ends “Heroes for the Red Cross” Fundraising Campaign

CALHOUN & CARTERSVILLE, GA, Sept 17, 2013 – For more than 95 years, the volunteers of the Northwest Georgia Chapter have been heroes for thousands of people throughout Northwest Georgia, lending aid during times of disaster, supporting military families and training citizens in lifesaving CPR and first aid skills.  During July a group of local “Heroes” raised $20,673 to help the Red Cross continue its services in Gordon and Bartow Counties.

The “Heroes” were honored at a breakfast meeting on August 19th in Calhoun, where we thanked them for their hard work on behalf of the residents of Gordon & Bartow County.

“The success of this year’s campaign is a testament to the hard work of our heroes and the generosity of our community. The money raised will go a long way to helping families in Gordon & Bartow Counties prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies,” said Jeffrey Putnam, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia.  “Everyone involved can truly take pride in knowing they have made a difference in the lives of their neighbors.”
