The Adairsville Tigers (4-2) beat the LaFayette Ramblers by a score of 44-14 on Friday on Friday night.

Adairsville received the opening kickoff, and it didn’t take long for the Tigers to score, as Jonathan Gough scored a 70-yard rushing touchdown to put them ahead just a minute into the game. LaFeyette failed to respond, but the Tigers were just getting started. Adairsville marched down the field on a 10-play, 70-yard drive, which ended with an Ethan Blome 8-yard rushing touchdown to put Adairsville ahead 14-0 late in the first quarter.

Adairsville’s offense continued to dominate early in the second quarter, going 65 yards down the field on just six plays, as Gough found the endzone from three yards out. After this, things got a little hectic. Adairsville forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, and recovered. A few plays later, Tamarius Wilkey scored a 10-yard rushing touchdown to put Adairsville ahead, but it missed the PAT. Jamarian Pullum scored a 33- yard rushing touchdown. The Tigers closed out the first half scoring with a 45-yard field goal to make the score 37-0.

Facing a huge deficit and a running clock in the third quarter, LaFayette scored a rushing touchdown to make the score 37-7 early in the second half. Adairsville didn’t back down despite being up 30 points as Wilkey scored a 10-yard rushing touchdown to put the Tigers ahead 44-7 late in the third quarter. Lafayette scored a fourth quarter touchdown to bring the game to its final score of 44-14.
