ARABIAN GULF (April 7, 2016)– Aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) recognized Petty Officer 3rd Class Charles A. Thurman as the Air Wing’s Warrior of the Day, April 7, 2016. Thurman is a native of Adairsville, Ga., a 2009 graduate of Adairsville High School and a 2013 graduate of Sorter College with a degree in Criminal Justice.

The title is awarded to sailors demonstrating superior performance in the line of duty. Each Warrior of the Day is hand selected from more than 2,000 sailors assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7 and recognized by Truman’s Commanding Officer Capt. Ryan B. Scholl.

Thurman was selected for his outstanding performance while serving as Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 103’s command assistant security manager onboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). In addition, he maintained 100 percent accountability for over 300 inventory items, providing critical support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Thurman’s commendable hard work and dedication set the standard for his peers, earning him recognition as Warrior of the Day.
