Around 10:30 Tuesday evening, Bartow County EMS along with the Bartow County Fire Department responded to a residence off Anchor Road in Acworth to a female that had been burned after an explosion. EMS arrived to find a 59-year-old female with second and thirdrd degree burns to the face, neck, torso and both arms. Bystanders advised the EMS crew that the patient was possibly burned by a can of an unknown type exploding that was in a fire and covered the patient in a hot liquid. EMS requested Air Life to transport the woman to a burn center. The EMS crew with both medics in the back of the ambulance with the patient was driven to a landing zone at the blockhouse boat ramp by Bartow County Fire Department personnel. The patient was flown to Cobb Hospital for treatment.
