Correction: Hardin will serve 24 months incarcerated 15 years on probation.
Twenty four year old Derrick Hardin was arrested October 3rd, 2014. Hardin struck and killed 54-year-old Floyd Eugene Hardin, also of Cartersville. Floyd Hardin was riding a bicycle in the area of Highway 41 and Zena Drive when the accident occurred. In addition to homicide by vehicle, Derrick Hardin was also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Judge Suzanne Smith sentenced Hardin to 15 years, 24 months to serve incarcerated and the remainder on probation.
